It’s the first Friday of October in Jax. That means it’s time for block parties in 5 Points and Springfield, two of the coolest places to be in town, no matter the evening.

This will be my first foray into 5 Points on a First Friday. Normally I’m heading to Springfield, but there’s a one-night gallery event at 5 Points Theater that no one should miss. Versus Gallery is hosting Ronnie Land and Mark George.

Among the other art notables one can expect to see: Tony Rodrigues and his lovely wife Wendy Lovejoy, Matt Uhrig, Jim Draper and Jeremiah Douglas. I hear the fantastic owners of Henry Klutho’s house, Jefree Shalev and Polly Davis, will not enliven the throngs with their presence.
